| | | | Footways and driveways can be constructed in either in in-situ concrete, precast concrete flags, bitumen macadam, concrete or clay / concrete pavia block / brick paving. Pavia brick can either be manufactured from concrete or clay depending on the colour, strength and appearance of the paving required. Paving brick are
normally laid on a layer of bedding sand and can be laid in various patterns such as herringbone. Paving blocks should after laying be compacted using a vibrating plate compactor and the gaps between the pavia brick filled with dry sand. The dry sand should be brushed into the gaps between the pavia brick and the vibrating plate compactor used to compact the blocks to prevent future movement of the pavia bricks and to provide an even riding surface over the concrete pavia brick |
